Steven D. Fredricks

Steven D. Fredricks has served as owner, president and chief executive officer of Fiber Science, Inc. since the company started in 1991. He began his career with Fiber Industries, Inc. in 1980, and has worked in the man-made fiber industry in various positions ever since, except for a two-year stint in 1983 as a Management Analyst for Florida Power and Light in Miami, Florida. Before starting Fiber Science, he was marketing manager for Hills, Inc. He is also actively involved in his community, sitting on the Board of the Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce, and involved with Economic Development Council of Brevard County, Florida. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University in 1976 and a Master’s of Business Administration degree from the University of North Florida in 1979. Steve has also consulted for domestic and international synthetic fiber production facilities. Steve and his wife live in Palm Bay, Florida.


Edgar Vanags

Edgar Vanags is Co-Founder and Vice-President of Fiber Science. Since the beginning in 1991, he has been instrumental in the design, development, and manufacturing of the company’s production equipment. Prior to starting Fiber Science, Inc., his career began at Hills, Inc. While there he held positions as Machine Designer and Research and Development Engineer. These responsibilities included equipment design, extrusion process development and machine start ups, both domestic and abroad. With over 25 years experience in synthetic fiber extrusion, Edgar has also provided technical service and consulting to fiber producers.

A native of northeast Ohio, he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Arts with Industrial Design concentration from Kent State University in 1977. Edgar and his wife Julie, live in Palm Bay, Florida.
