Fiber Science, Inc. produces fibers in the following forms:

Continuous multiple filament (Multifilament) fiber, in both flat and intermingled or interlaced form

Cut fiber, both in uncrimped and crimped form

Single filament (Monofilament) fiber, in small diameter ranges

Fiber Science, Inc. produces a wide range of fibers from a variety of polymers. We produce everything from polyethylene to PEEK, and beyond. Our extrusion equipment is capable of handling polymers with melting points as low as 80 degrees Celsius (176 F), such as ethylene vinyl acetate, or EVA. On the other end of the spectrum, our equipment processes polymers with melting points in excess of 400 degrees C (750 F), which is higher than the melting point of PEEK. More specific information can be found in the technical data sheets

Fiber Science, Inc. has a number of product families. One range of products includes fusible fibers that melt at relatively low temperatures and are used in a number of applications to bond various products together. We offer ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) both as a hompolymer and various copolymers, copolyamides, and copolyesters. These products adhere extremely well to materials such as polyester, nylon, acrylic, cotton, paper, fiberglass, carbon fiber, metals, and other substrates.

Fiber Science, Inc. also supplies a range of polyester variants. In addition to traditional polyester (PET), we supply fibers made from polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polyester copolymers, and polyester elastomers.

Fiber Science, Inc. has the ability to perform custom coloring of fibers in the melt phase. This is useful for fibers that need to have extreme colorfastness or, particularly brilliant shades that are not obtainable with either yarn or fabric dyeing. We can also color fibers with very high extrusion temperatures by using specialized colorants and addition systems.

Fiber Science, Inc. can produce non-standard deniers and filament counts that are not commercially available anywhere else. These can be produced from both conventional and novel polymers.

Fiber Science, Inc. supplies a number of high performance fibers for applications needing high resistance to heat, flame, chemical, or environmental exposure. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

Fiber Science, Inc. produces a range of biodegradable, resorbable, and soluble fibers, as well as fibers with antimicrobial properties.
